J. LUKE RUSSELL

You know the feeling of discovering a new fantasy book that promises grand quests and struggles against mighty foes? You read to be submersed in a journey that leaves you with a feeling of wonder, hope, excitement, and maybe even an emotional bittersweetness. You want your imagination to be thrilled and enlivened.
Instead, you're dished up a rehashed story you've experienced a hundred times. The world is just a derivative of Middle Earth or Harry Potter. Or even if the story is good, it's filled with morally gray characters, an unfulfilling post-modern worldview, and foul content that makes you want to wash out your brain. Your imagination wasn't expanded, it was squashed to boredom and disgust.
I've experienced this problem. My goal is to help solve it.
Stories that Dull
Our Minds

I write epic fantasy that can be enjoyed by both older teens and adults—stories echoing the classics in their themes of hope and courage. Tales hearkening back to “the stories that really matter.”
Stories shouldn't dull our minds but inspire them. They should enrich our lives with deep and powerful themes that point to goodness and light, not bore and muddy them with uncreative plots and confused worldviews. That's why my stories are different. In them, you'll find:
Heroic, noble characters.
Vivid new worlds.
A moral worldview and a cause worth fighting for.
Goodness, truth, and the hope that we can defy and overcome the darkness.
Stories that Enrich our Lives
